Defect evaluation and root cause determination are time consuming, and the associated effort and costs are even greater when the defects are reported from a customer’s site. As being the quality director of AIDC/AEF, I have to address serious concerns to your attention over the frequent quality escapes of the parts we purchase from SUPPLY for CUSTOMER, our valued customer!
In particular, there have been a large number of rejected parts for the 631901-1 since last September when we commenced shipping to CUSTOMER, with the majority of the problems falling in notch on trailing edge rib and dent on root or airfoil. You may refer to the attached defect summary. Although Honeywell has presented a letter explaining such parts can meet the inspection criteria in reply to the RDRs raised, our customer cannot buy in and rather disfavor the statement, especially when such allowances are not written in the applicable technical orders. Plus many other individual defects of fewer quantity, we have suffered many complaints from our customer and spent lots of efforts and cost in resolving those outstanding issues during this time period!
In addition, the on-going 631902-1 brazing issues also bother us very much! Through lots of to-and-fro communications, our customer still insists on the rejection decision and declares no retraction unless ITEC can get allowance of such defect documented in the applicable technical orders. Meeting the satisfaction of customers is definitely the final goal we are working for. Your efforts in defect reduction and quality enhancement is extremely valuable to both our customer and us! Please promptly implement corrective actions to improve the quality of all the delivered products and amend the technical orders, if acceptable, to cover those occurrences of escapes. We encourage you to continue these efforts by all means in order to re-gain the confidence of your customers – AABC and CUSTOMER, the end user. Your earliest feedback is greatly appreciated!
